The Meyer Awards were created by two very bored Louisville teenagers a long time ago. We created the awards with the intention of honoring the good movies and blasting the bad ones. We took on the hard task of creating unusual categories (such as Best Movie to Fall Asleep To) and of nominating movies in each category. We then took the vote to the people (our friends and a couple of complete strangers) who cast their vote for their favorite movie. Of course, we throw the vote in the end to ensure that the really deserving movies win. Starting with our 1998 awards, we took the vote to the internet, and we also started to notify the winners. Most of the feedback we have received from the winners has been very positive. In fact, rumor has it that one of our previous winners of the Nicest Ass Male category has his award hanging above his toilet. To read more about previous winners, check out our comments section.
